Even More Christmas at Liseberg

Christmas at Liseberg is bigger than ever this year! With the opening of Kållerado's station building and the square near the Balder and Kanonen roller coasters, the Christmas area has become 30 % larger than in previous years. Trees and facades in the newly opened area have been decorated with more than one million lights. So this year 4,379,832 Christmas lights will be twinkling in the park, adding to that wonderfully warm Christmas feeling. All the cabins have been moved from the Blå Gången passage to reduce crowding and can now be found in new places around the park instead.

This year's coolest new addition is the ice bar, made entirely out of beautiful shimmering blue ice. The ice bar is presented in cooperation with Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi and is the only one of its kind in southern Sweden. All of the interior furnishings, including the drinking glasses, are made of ice. The ice was gathered last spring from the Torne River and was stored over the summer before being transported to Göteborg. The ice bar is a fascinating experience guaranteed to become a memory that won't melt away quickly!

Christmas Sing-a-long

Also new this year is JulLotta, a continuation of the hit from recent summers, Lotta at Liseberg. On four Sundays (20, 27 Nov. and 4, 11 Dec.) starting at 4 p.m., our guests can sing along to passionate and joyous Christmas carols together with Lotta Engberg and Curt-Eric Holmquist's orchestra.

Arts and Crafts Market

Several of Sweden's best artisans have set up house in the Kållerado station building. Visitors can enjoy beautiful art and crafts made from such materials as wood, wrought iron, glass, textiles and ceramics in a warm and cosy atmosphere. There is a change of exhibitors throughout the Christmas period, which makes for a vibrant and dynamic market. It's quite possible that it will be here you will find that very special gift.

Liseberg Gran Prix

Ten western Swedes with a connection to design, as well as Liseberg's park designer will participate in the Liseberg Gran Prix contest. Participants will each decorate a tree according to their own tastes and styles. The Christmas trees will then be displayed near Kållerado from December 1 to 19 and our guests can vote for the tree they like best. The winning tree's decorator will be declared the Grand Champion. Those who voted for the winning tree are included in a drawing where the winner gets the tree delivered to his or her home.

The Rabbits' Christmas Adventure on Ice

This year, the Liseberg Rabbits have their own show on ice at the Mirror Pond called The Rabbits' Christmas Morning (Kaninernas julmorgon). We greet them as they wake up on Christmas Eve morning and head out into the wood to find the perfect Christmas tree. They get some unexpected help from a snow-white friend there ...

Team Surprise and single skaters from the Landvetter Figure Skating Club entertain with world-class performances on the days the Rabbits take a break from their ice show.

Then of course there is the Christmas Market where all the trimmings and trappings of Christmas are for sale, Father Christmas at the Lilla Scenen stage, Christmas buffets, ice skating, animals, the Gasten Ghost Hotel, scents of mulled wine, Tomtarnas Värld, reindeer sleighs, a Sámi hut, wide-awake ride attractions, Liseberg Christmas Carols and much, much more!
